This year’s Community Picnic (Saturday 5th September 2015) proved once again to be a popular event on the Granville Road Estate. The weather was playing havoc with the organisers since it rained for a couple of hours in the morning, but by mid-day it settled down. Although it was not the sunniest of days the beautiful flowers pasted on the fence added ambiance and colour along with the exuberance and excitement provided by the children made up for the lack of sunshine!!
It was nice to see local children and parents sit down together sharing food and immersing themselves in painting wonderful pictures.
The badminton proved to be popular with a lot of parent vs child games on the go. The mini football goals for the football also proved to be popular. Admittedly, it was the bouncy castle that really excited the kids and they really enjoyed themselves.
We would like to thank the new Co-op store manager at Childs Hill for providing some crisps and fruit along with the manager at Hobby Craft Staples Corner for providing the paint for our event.
We also want to thank all the officials, volunteers, friends and families that helped us make it a wonderful event. Thanks to Dr Bike whose services once again proved to be very popular with the numerous bike owners.
Our aim is to provide a number of events for the residents and locals throughout the year to build a better community so if you have any ideas feel free to contact us via: http://gera.onl/contact-us/
As per the appeal by the developers, no further information is available but rest assured when the time comes everyone will be called upon to protect our wonderful and precious green space.
