Barnet Council is consulting on the future of libraries in the Borough. Three options have been proposed; all of which will result in the reduction of quality of the library service.
Option 1 will see Childs Hill and Golders Green Libraries both reduced to 540sq ft, an 85% shrink in library space at Childs Hill and a 90% shrink at Golders Green. The libraries will be unstaffed for considerable times.
Option two will see Childs Hill Library close completely and Golders Green only staffed for a third of the week.
Option 3 will see Childs Hill library shrink and be run by volunteers only.
Do you think this is a good idea? WE DON’T!
